"With great indignation, I have taken note of the incomprehensible decision by the NOFV to prohibit the slogan "Tolerance seit 1685" on the uniforms of the players of the men's regional league team of SV Babelsberg 03.

The association is citing the regulation that prohibits political statements on sports uniforms. This highly disconcerting decision, however, gives the impression that those responsible are doing exactly the opposite of what they claim to want to prevent with their decision: they are making a political statement. I am very pleased that Babelsberg is vehemently opposing this ban and strongly support all actions to correct this shameful decision.

Tolerance is at the core of our democracy as the ethical orientation of our free society; Article 1 of the Basic Law states it simply: "Human dignity shall be inviolable!" Striving for tolerance in our interactions with one another is the conditional basis of peaceful coexistence. This applies to me as an entrepreneur, as a citizen, and as a human being. That's why I decided to get involved with SV Babelsberg 03 and to form the cooperation between the Potsdam Tolerance Edict, SV Babelsberg 03 and my company.  To ban the promotion of tolerance insults the Basic Law and the values of our community. I call on the NOFV to correct this insane decision immediately."
